To better protect your personal information, the following notice explains the data we collect, how it is used, how it is safeguarded, and how to contact us if you have any concerns. This Privacy Policy applies to the use of our website, northwestpets.com, and other Company interactions such as our Ted-e-Club and Astro customer loyalty programs, and store events.

What Information Is Collected:

In general, we limit the collection of personal information to only the data that is relevant to the user experience on our site, and/or for participation in our loyalty programs or store events. When you place an order with us or register for an account on northwestpets.com, we will request some or all of the following: your first and last name, billing address, shipping address, credit card number and expiration date, phone number, and email address. 

Our site may employ the use of "cookies" and other software to receive certain types of technical information when your computer, mobile phone or other device accesses our site. This information is compiled and may be viewable on both a personal and an aggregated level, and it may include a URL that you viewed prior to our site, the next URL visited, what browsing software you are using, and your Internet Protocol address. Information captured for the purposes of tracking purchases for external loyalty programs may also be housed on a third party server (Astro Loyalty). We use your information only for the limited purposes of processing your orders, following up on order issues, administering our site, awarding you with loyalty discounts or free goods, or notifying you of promotional offers or store events that may be of interest to you (depending upon on your Email preferences, you do have the ability to opt out).

However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Any personal information that you choose to share on social media or blog pages hosted by Northwest Pets is disclosed by you and not covered by this Privacy Policy. Personal data submitted for the purposes of a contest entry may be disclosed to third party sponsors of the contest. We may also disclose identifiable information to other companies and agencies in certain instances for fraud protection and credit risk reduction, or if we are required to do so by law.

If you choose to join Astro Loyalty - a third party partner - and submit your personal information to them, their privacy policy is as follows: "Except as provided below, we do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information unless we provide you with advance notice. However, if you are a member of a rewards or loyalty program that we service, we may share your personally identifiable information with manufacturers, retailers or veterinarian hospitals that sponsor or participate in such reward or loyalty program. We may also share your personally identifiable information with our website hosting partners, and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property, or safety."

Web hosting and/or development of northwestpets.com is provided by a PCI-compliant host, BigCommerce.

The content of this site is intended to viewable for general audiences. Northwest Pets will not knowingly attempt to collect or maintain personal data from users of this site who are minors.

We will occasionally provide links to third party sites in connection with content offered on northwestpets.com. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.

Our Commitment To The Security of Your Data:

The security of your personal data is of the utmost importance to Northwest Pets, and we are committed to keeping it confidential. We will not rent or sell names, addresses, phone numbers, or Email addresses collected under the normal course of operations for our own internal loyalty program, the Ted-e-Club. However, in the case of the sale or dissolution of the business, your individually identifying information may be one of the assets transferred in connection with such transactions, and may be subject to a different data handling philosophy in the future. 

We take steps, including the deployment of technological resources and the use of firewalls, systems and procedures, to protect the security of your personal information. Credit card data used for purchases on northwestpets.com is encrypted through Authorize.net servers and is safeguarded according to industry PCI data handling compliance standards. It is never stored on the Northwest Pets Website hosted by BigCommerce or on our own internal network. For security of transactions, our site uses the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, which encrypts any personal information you enter into registration forms. The encryption process protects your information, by scrambling it before it is transmitted from your computer. We also make commercially reasonable efforts to ensure the security of your personal information on our system.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet, for the purposes or making purchases or general communication, can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot warranty the security of information you transmit to us. If necessary, Northwest Pets will notify you of any known or reasonably suspected data breach involving your personal information, in accordance with the law.
